Wow! These are some awesome photos! I have been in Wrightwood for about 4 years now and never had the pleasure of seeing a bear yet! Where about were these photos taken? I must just be on the wrong side of town... :(

I can only hope that this is the little guy I saw several times last year - surviving traffic as he dillydallied many times across Hwy 2 before going into hibernation.

Awesome pictures John!

Nice pictures!  :2thumbsup:
Scout was at work at the Camp and saw this bear, also. It was going after the trash and remnants of a peanut bird feeder project. Camp personnel chased it off (not toward your house, though) so it doesn't get too comfortable going after their trash.

I want to name it. I know the arguments against it. I just want to name it Woody. Or maybe Spot. He has that tiny little spot under his left eye. Even if no one else wants to name it--I'm going to call him Woody. And a million thanks to John and whoever else is getting such great shots of him. 8)

Just saw Woody on the corner of Lark and Cedar, he left that location and headed towards the Country club on Oriole, turned right in the middle of Oriole and I lost him in some yards.  He wasn't on Robin that we could see.  Told a worker at the Country Club to be aware.  Man, what a shock to see in the neighbor's yard at 12:30pm!

Local young bear warning !!
Warning.... the young bear is now getting more brave in it's foraging efforts. Today he tore a screen off a house on Finch and was halfway in the house when the resident saw it, screamed and chased it away.

You need to keep that thing on a leash.  ;D Great shots John. I've seen more bear out during the day than night.

Be smart. Be safe. Keep food away from the bear and trash cans secured. If you feed birds outside I'm sure they'll be fine without food until he (hopefully) moves on. Cat and dog food as well.

Please don't make this a situation where the bear is killed because it's felt to be a threat to humans.
