Yes and I am so stoked! It is just way cool to see a big, beautiful flicker on a 20" monitor, pecking away, customizing his house.

As for the video, I am going to need some help with that. I will convert the VHS to a DVD later tonight and then I will need help getting it posted.

Okay, now I have proof that the female flicker is around. I had only seen the male go in the house before (it is hard to tell who is who on the video camera inside the flicker house as it is only black and white because of the low light). The male has the bright colored whisker like marks on his face and you can see on these pictures, the female does not. Leave it to the female to come in like gangbusters and rearrange stuff. She has been dumping out the wood shavings big time this morning.

Excuse the quality of the photos as they were taken at an angle through our bedroom window.

Here is a picture of the male that I just took. You can clearly see his face markings.

What's the status BB?

Did you get rid of the undesirables?

Yes they are gone, but the flickers have not been back, even with the new nest location and the suet enticement.

Looks more like a Wood Rat to me.  I have a gazillion of them on our property.

I hadn't thought about a wood rat.
Now I'm more concerned!

I agree. 2nd picture almost shows his hindquarters  and back legs. Ears are too small to be a bat, although a bat is really nothing more than a rat with wings.
