bear shot at mt. high last week

I thought I might read about it in the paper or on this webiste but I've seen nothing.  Does anyone have info about the bear that was shot near Mt. High last week?  It was Sat. before last.  I was comming back from hiking and saw the dead bear in the back of a truck near Big Pines, later my son saw it at Dick Phillips house.  Was this the same bear that has been around the Bull Wheel in the past?  What made them shoot him?  I understand that "bad bears" cannot be relocaed, but I could have gone a long long time without seeing a dead one in the back of a truck - so sad.

I've emailed the DFG biologist we work with on the Bighorn Sheep restoration project to get details about the bear. I'll post the information as soon as I get a response.
