I've got a squirrel who keeps munching on my potted dwarf nectarine tree. >:( I wish they would just stick to having sweet relations with their fellow squirrels. :Smileys:

Okay I looked them up DFG has 6 different types of Kangaroo Rats listed on their threatened and endangered mammals list.  I am at a loss as to which one is native to our area though  ???

Well Breezy, according to my Peterson Field Guide to the Mammals of North America, the Kangaroo Rats that have the potential to be in your area are:

Panamint Kangaroo Rat  Dipodomys panamintinus
Pacific Kangaroo Rat Dipodomys agilis
Desert Kangaroo Rat Dipodomys deserti
Merriam Kangaroo Rat Dipodomys merriami
