  • Looking forward to the next 45 years....
Assuming that the call will be taken by CHP (believe that they handle cell phone 911 calls first).  Wonder if they will just handle the call on text or pass it forward to law enforcement or fire as they do now.  I'll have to call down to CommCenter and ask.

Jim.. While you're asking about this. I have called 911 (voice)  from my car to report an accident. That works fine if you're on a freeway. But, one day .. I was driving in Culver City and this idiot was out in the roadway with a sword attacking cars. So, I called 911 and got the CHP. They didn't cover that area and they would not transfer me to the local P.D. that did.. nor would they give me the number.

If I'm on my cell, I have learned to call -0- for operator, state this is an emergency and ask to be transferred to such & such police/sheriff  agency .. and I ask the operator to stay on the line to be sure the transfer went through.

I post this question because in your previous message.. you stated: "or pass it forward to law enforcement as they do now."  My experience, as above, was they don't pass it forward.  cheryl o7o
