I've seen coyotes walking around in the daylight at least 4-5 times a week - sometimes two of them at a time.  I'm sure they're thirsty, with no stream in the wash.  We saw a bobcat run across the road last week, too.  We weren't sure what it was - too big to be a housecat, but my neighbor, who was driving in front of us, verified that's what it was.

All this activity is at the top of East Canyon.  I see what looks like the same coyote even crossing through my yard in daylight - and there were two outside my door when I forgot to bring the water dish in, but that was after dark.  When all the neighbor dogs are barking, I look outside, and sure enough, there's at least one coyote lurking around.

The bobcat ran across the road just a few houses down from me.  I'm not at the very top of East Canyon, but pretty close.

There was a coyote strolling down Hwy 2 tonight about 11:30, right when I got into town, on my way home from work.  It didn't look like a really large one.

I see them walking down Oriole in the daytime.
I'm sure they travel all over town.
Keep the cats and small dogs in unless you're with them. (or there's a big dog in the yard with them)

I saw another coyote on upper LPC this morning about 9:45, several houses before starting down the canyon.  After the upper S-curves, heading down, there was a large snake in the roadway.  I couldn't tell what kind, and I don't think it was alive, but it wasn't there when I came back up about 1:30.

I noticed a coyote that is hanging around Lone Pine Canyon that is becoming extremely brave.  I noticed him/her now three days this week on my way home.  I purposely tried to remember his subtle markings. He has been seen in the area of Lone Pine just east of the houses.   Beware of coyotes and watch your dogs and cats, it is the beginning of their season to raise pups.  This is when they are at their bravest.
If this is the same coyote I see on my way to work in the mornings (possibly not), then she has had kits recently and is nursing.  She is always near the homes on the south side of LPC at the top, coming in about 4 -5 homes in from the forest.  I have also seen lone coyotes meandering around Pinon Mesa.

Guess that fixes my rabbit problem regarding planting a vegetable garden!  Seems it has also scared away the raccoons that have been having fun pestering my indoor kitties at 2 in the morning!
