THIS WAS AN INTERESTING VIDEO THAT I RECEIVED and AFTER WATCHING I HAD TO WATCH TO THE END - LEARNED A LOT ABOUT WHEN I BUY A TIRE FOR MY CARS.  THE GARAGE OR WHEREVER WILL BE SURPRISED WHEN I TELL THEM I WANT TO SEE THE TIRE 'CODE'.
This is very important.   Please watch the video.

I urge you all to take the time to look at  this 9 minute video on tires and share with others. I'm checking mine.

I called Costco were I purchased my tires.  You most likely will have to look on the inside of the tire ( you will have to go under your car for your number)  It is the DOT line. On the outside of the tire there is a series of numbers folling the DOT ( ex 111S) That IS NOT THE EXPIRATION DATE! The S stands for speed.  The same DOT number is in the inside to the tire with an extra 4 number code.  My numbers are 0907.  My tires were made the 9th week of 2007.

Costco goes through such high volumes of tire sales that you are virtually gaurantanee a just made NEW tire, not one that has been sitting on the shelf for 10 years.

That happened to me on I-5 on the way to San Francisco once. It was scary and I was in the middle of no where. I had never seen anything like it. Luckily I was able to stay on the road.

Interesting story. Very sensational. So are they suggesting that if you buy a tire that's four years old you replace it in two years regardless of tread wear. And BTW tires don't have an "inside" and an "outside". That's a choice you make when the tire shop Asks "white letters out, or white letters in?" Plus what's with accusing the stores of saying the tire is "new" when it's 1, 2, 4 or six years old. If you bought a 2001 car that had never been sold or driven it's still new. So are the tires new. New and old are not opposite terms.
Slanted reporting. And no I don't work in the tire or rubber industry. I just don't approve of skewed reporting.

If you believed every report like that you would never eat in any restaurant. One year coffee and wine are bad for you, the next  year they prevent heart attacks and cancer.

Its Clints World..we mindless people just live in it.

Does anyone remember seeing a bumper sticker 20+ years ago with the words "Question Authority" on it?

While in college we were discussing what exactly those words meant.  The bottom line is that a thinking person should be questioning any and every bit of information that is new to them.  Does the information have a ring of truth to it, or is the information designed to sway the listener/reader to a particular point of view?

Politicians are masters at twisting the usage of words and phrases to convey the desired message.  It doesn't necessarily mean they are telling the truth, nor does it mean they are lying.  Nowadays we call it "spin", but the effect is the same.

Question Authority

Those tires probably contained Death Crystals. Look for tires that are labeled "Contain No Death Crystals" to be sure you are getting safe tires.
