Home Again
« on: Oct 07, 09, 02:50:57 AM »
We finally got the last cat, who was hiding in a friend's attic.
Everyone is home.
The dogs are home from the Fairgrounds, where Animal Care and Control took great care of them.
The cats are home from a good friend's house.
The kid is home from staying with a school friend.
I am home from staying in the 5th wheel of a great forum friend and her great family (including cool furry & feathered people).  :)
Home is goooooooooooooood!!!!!  :2thumbsup:
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

I am thankful for the following:

My house is still standing.
My 'stuff' didn't burn.
My family is safe.
Vacuuming my own floor.
Sweeping pine needles off the porch and not ashes.
The cooler weather for those poor firefighters.
The light breeze instead of howling wind.
My kids who were surprisingly well behaved for stressful times.
My washer and dryer.
My very own bed with my very own bedding.
My telephone ringing and friends relieved we are safe.

The list goes on but my eyes are starting to mist.

My ugly yellow house with the old, stretched 70's green berber carpet is still standing.....and I couldn't be more grateful.  Suddenly, it doesn't look so aweful.

And the pizza from Mile High last night was wonderful.  Thank you to the staff for being there to feed us when our exhausted bodies got back to town.  You guys rock!

And I totally agree with stitches.  There is so much to be thankful for.

Now you guys made my eyes wet!   :-*

My warm jammies and watching my cats sleeping calmly in their usual spots.  Seeing my dogs on their beds on the deck happy, calm and exhausted.  What an adventure for them.

Oreo and Lucky staying one night on their own in the compound next to Mireya the wolf who would have loved to have them for dinner!  Oreo was petrified but Lucky wanted to make friends, silly dog.  They felt much better the 2nd night when Mom and Mogli were there.  They howled the night away with the wolves, it was kinda cool.

But last night at home, they didnt even lift their heads when I went to say goodnight, they were so tired and they still are.. tired abd happy to be home.

The covery of Quails were waiting for me when we got home, had to run to Mtn Hdware for bird seed.....

Oh the joy of sitting on my couch with my blankets with the cats snuggling...

I love my house, I love my town and my neighbors!!!!

I am thankful my

3.  sister and brother in law were so GREAT to just let us take over their life and house - even with dogs and cats!
4. 80 year old parents drove to Wrightwood we me today to help me get all my stuff back home because it WOULD NOT go back in the VW the way it came out
5. husband is the best guy in the world, because he took me to dinner at our favorite place, and got us a plush deluxe fantastic room is San Diego for a night's get away from all the stress
6. most beautiful house with ALL it's problems and jobs that still need to be done is still standing
7.   wonderful town and almost all it's trees are still intact
8.  state and other states sent such awesome firefighters, law enforcement, air crews and all the others I might have forgotten, to save and protect our homes and businesses - we can never thank you enough.
