The Special Districts Department, Park and Recreation Division is recruiting for an extra-help Park Maintenance Worker to perform general grounds/building maintenance and landscaping tasks for the department's park, facilities, and buildings and ensure they are clean and safe for public use. The work site is located in the area of Wrightwood, approximately 33 miles northwest of downtown San Bernardino.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Assignment/Hours: This is an extra-help, non-regular Public Service Employee position. This position will only work approximately 16 hours per week depending on the season, and workload. The successful candidate shall be considered at-will throughout the term of their employment.
Location: Must be available to work in Wrightwood for the current vacancy.
Working Conditions: Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions such as high temperatures, with exposure to sunlight and varying weather conditions that could include snow/ice. Applicants must be able to perform heavy manual labor and work outdoors in varying weather conditions; must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and have the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend over, and crawl for extended periods in the performance of job duties for this position.
License: Must possess and maintain a current valid Class "C" California Driver License.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience: Six (6) months of (full-time equivalent) paid work experience in landscaping, facilities maintenance or custodial experience.
AND
License: A current valid Class "C" California Driver License.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in more than one of the following areas is desirable: landscaping, facilities maintenance, and custodial.

This position includes performing maintenance at the Vivian Null Park, Wrightwood Skate Park, Children's Park, Wrightwood Community Center, Wrightwood Veterans Park, and Wrightwood Museum.
Must be able to work on weekends and some holidays.
Must be able to work during events such as Mountaineer Days, Wrightwood Classic Car Show, Wrightwood Jeep Days and other community events.
