Cheryl, thanks for the shout out!
We did evac and are in a hotel in victorville until clear. My neighbor is still there in WCV  and she will update me on the fires progress in our little corner of the valley.
From the news on TV it's hard to tell exactly where the fire has jumped to. As you've all said, this one is spotty and fast. I hosed down our property before leaving and can only pray for the best for all of us.
We are south of the 138 right up against the San Bernardino Forest line.

Monitoring all this closely....as you all are too.
It's so surreal....

I heard the 19k reference but unconfirmed. Nothing on location in Lone Pine. That seems to be the question that everyone wants an answer to.

I can see a strong orange glow in the smoke cloud, as viewed from Park.  Why is there no bloody information on the proximity to Wrightwood?  This is not a complicated question.

I can see the orange glow in the sky SSE  from here in P.H. on Green Rd.  C&S..  all I can tell you is that the fire is close enough to WW for the F.D. to order a mandatory evac.  The TV footage of the homes lost in the WCV is horrible. Stay safe everyone. BBfan.. glad to read you got out ok.  Hope your home makes it too.

It seems like the people who usually have the answers are gone. Suddenly realized that having some HAM gear around would be a good idea. Last fire we had there was somewhat good info on the Table Mt repeater. Maybe that's where all the info people are.

This is true.  Wrightwood is probably handling his personal business right now like everyone else should.

The continuing flow of information for future incidents is something to be solved once things have calmed some.

Keep in mind that the GOES/MODIS data isn't super precise - that is the reason by those red blocks are so large.  There is plenty of wiggle room in the exact location of the fire with respect to that map.

It does give a general overview without much detail.

I wasn't naming names. There's a few people who get the info out. Never occurred to me, they may be busy.
