Looks like people are entering from the West (Beekley Rd) portion of Hwy 138

It doesn't include the west end of west Cajon valley, huh?

Correct - West Cajon Valley and Hwy 138 between I15 and Hwy remain closed

Another proof of residency would be a vehicle registration with street address listed.

At this point: People with vehicles parked at MT High cannot enter at the area. They would need to drive to Hwy 138 and Hwy 2.

Again: Hwy 138 remains closed between I15 and Hwy 2 (West Cajon Valley)

Just did some rough calculation how long it would take my son to get home:
Let's say 3000 people evacuated that want to come back now and let's further assume there are two people per car on average, that means there will be 1500 cars entering WW. Let's also assume that on average the check for residency take 15-20 seconds, that means about 500 minutes spend on checking the cars into WW. That's EIGHT hours!
And then, who thought to bring a tax bill with the physical address when evacuating? But there I might have some good news, I was checked last night and my ID with the PO Box was good enough.

They wait time people were just told at mthigh west would be another 4 hours.  There are some pretty unhappy people up there right now.  The officers at the post are getting an earful!

Every PO Box holder in Wrightwood received an emergency magnet in April 2015 with Proof of Residency listed on the evacuation checklist

Merlinsilk, I know many families with multiple cars. Many loaded all of their vehicles up and drove out. That would put even more cars on the road back home!  So, it could be more than 4 hours!  I'm just glad to be going home, and having a home to go back to!

Here's one reason why Hwy 138 remains closed.

Got in an hour and a half ago with just a driver's license.  One officer asked me for my physical address.  That was it.  Beekley was slow going but from there on not bad.  Had to slow down briefly for the driver's license check twice, but pretty painless.  Looks a bit slower right now if, looking at Google Maps.

We came through about 3:30 -- turned us around at the 15 and the 138. (I wasn't sure if that was still closed, it was.) Went north to 395/Phelan Rd. Checkpoint at Beekley and the 138, waved us through. Checkpoint at the 2 and 138. Looked at my CDL and asked my street address, which I gave him. "Welcome home!" Oh and Elk, thank you so much for your initial post and THANK YOU TO THIS FORUM! I like Facebook too, but no facts there. I always came here for the real thing.

Pac-Fan, I KNOW what you did! - - - I did the same thing last night  :-)
  :wink3:

I wasn't about to sit there another 1.5 hrs only to be told we'd have to wait another 4 hours or GO BACK down N4 to 138 to the 2!  ::)

We came home from the Glendale area leaving 2:45 and arriving about 4:40.
Our route was 5 to 14 to Pearblossum 138 to the 2.  There were 3 check points,
one at Beekley and the 138... about 50% of the folks in line there were turned away.
We showed my wife's DL which has our physical address on it.
The next was 138 and 2, but we were the only ones in sight.
The third was at 2 and Desert front..  in each case, upon checking her DL the officers
said  "Welcome Home"

the cabin was just as we left it.  No smoke smell or ashes...
the oven timer was flashing and ten minutes behind time so it looks like we only lost about 10 minutes of power.

SO Glad to be home.

 :2thumbsup:

Soooo very happy you're all making it home safely.

I did get word from a neighbor that our home is fine. The fire went around both our houses. Amazing...
A little tile roof charring, she says, but in good shape. I can't wait to see it myself.
