Am I reading this map right? It looks like their evacuating east to the I-15. News said Painted Canyon is now mandatory evac. Are the areas north of Painted Hills under evac too? I have a friend in Lake Mathews.

No. Evacuations are all west of I15. Lake Mathews isn't near the fire. Just drove through and just south of Temescal is burning down the hill towards Horsetheif. A few neighborhoods in Elsinore are getting phoscheck on the roofs. Doesn't look like a good scene but I'm no expert and it's hard to tell from the valley.

This mornings #HolyFire update: we are now at 9614 acres and 5% containment.

Firefighters continue to battle the blaze around the clock. We expect favorable weather conditions this weekend to help these efforts.

#HolyFire burns closer to subdivisions in Riverside, County California. The fire has grown to within two tenths of a mile of homes north of Lake Elsinore. 3-D map by Wildfire Today, looking west. White line on map was the fire 20 hours before.
