San Bernardino County Commission

I don't follow politics much so I was shocked to read this article.  Did you know that yesterday the San Bernardino County Commissioners gave the Public Health Officer the power to make  law?

How did they "sneak" that in? I get their agendas and usually review them to see if anything looks "dangerous"! But, I certainly missed that. Was it on their consent calendar?

I question the validity of the "article" when the author citing can't even get the name of the governmental organization correct.  Also, know for a fact that the County is trying to get State to RELAX some of the restrictions and not make them more restrictive to get more business open and operating.

What Jim said.

That site's header reads, "Dave Hodges: The Common Sense Show. Freeing America One Enslaved Mind at a Time"

Um...

Consider the source.

Seems to me that the County Board of Supervisors is passing a law directing an agency to write and enforce regulations within some guidelines.

That'd be a lot like the U.S. Congress passing a law directing the U.S. Treasury (IRS) to write regulations and collect taxes.

I'm not impressed by either, but it doesn't seem new or novel.

Even considering the source, the plain text of "shocking" ordinance in the link has the Supes are giving the health dept. the power to cite and perhaps close gatherings of 500 persons or more, and they reserve the power to alter the ordinance later. I'm with lwt42, nothing here seems particularly newsworthy in the current environment.
