Furnance Replacement - New Ultra Low Nox
« on: Jul 22, 25, 05:05:25 PM »
Hello, Just checking in has anyone recently replaced a furnance? I understand there are new AQMD requirements for Ultra Low Nox units, but they don't work above 3000 feet elevation.

What are people replacing their units with?

Since I'm going to face the same issue, I took a quick look at the regulations.

It appears that Ultra Low NOX furnaces are not required above 4,500 feet under AQMD rule 1111.

Since IANAL, consult a competent authority.

If I'm not mistaken, they're saying no more gas furnaces after 2029.  Heat pumps are awesome, but I don't wan't a big back-up generator to run one when SCE is down.
