I was sitting on the couch last night watching TV and looking down to find a big black spider heading for my leg.  I screamed and jumped off the couch, so naturally it disappeared.  My cream woke my husband up who came out to see what was wrong.  I told him "There's a huge spider"  He said "huh" and went back to bed.  I tore the couch apart armed with bug spray and no luck.  I had to take a sleeping pill to go to bed because my adrenaline was so high!  :o :o

So today I have to tear apart the sunroom and spray everything down or I won't be able to use that room.   And I just had Terminix here last week!  He told me it was mating season.  Wonderful.

Give me a snake, lizard, gecko, even a Black widow because they just hang around-not all creepie crawlie, but having a huge spider and then loosing it in the room, someone would have to have taken me away in a white jacket with funny arms.  I just can't do spiders and to think it is mating season for them!!!  Oh I just can't stand that.  The only good spider is a dead spider in my book.  And I have seen tarantulas up here as well over on Wright Mountain Rd., just happily marching down the street.  I was in my car and he still freaked me out.  Oh the horror!!!!

Contrary to popular belief tarantulas are harmless.  They mate every decade.  This is their mating season so please be careful , you can pick them up in the palm of your hand.  I used to teach Outdoor Education and we used to  have a few tarantulas for the kids to touch.. So give them a break and help one across the street if you happen to see one.  Just my opinion which I am entitled to like everyone else

Could have been worse.  You could have fallen asleep while watching TV and been awakened by the spider humping your leg!

And "spider experts" say if you happen to awake during the event, that it's best to let the spider finish it's business.  If you don't, you can disrupt their fragile mating process.

Don't worry about the spider. Using all of that insect spray is what's going to kill you first.  ;D

Not if I hit them with the can until they are flat.      ;)    Ugh.   I don't mind spiders outside but once they are inside the house, their behind is mine.    My kids run for my disposable cups and catch and release before mom gets to them.    More humane.

Psssssst!
The jig is up. We all have to stop throwing all of those spiders into Lynn's house. She's catching on.  8)
