On May 12th there was an outage for 35 minutes during the night by the lag in my digital clock on my stove. So maybe it took them 35 minutes to hook us up to the generator. We'll see what happens on the 19th.

Looks like there are five planned outages on 5/29, all from 1:00 am to 6:00 am.

If it's the same plan, there should be outages on 6/6.

What about the outage that was scheduled for 5/19. Does this mean that one isn’t happening any more? As usual, SCE does a lousy job of keeping everyone informed.

I have no issue with the outages but can someone explain the hours?  Many of us commute down the hill and need to up and out of bed before 6am.  Wouldn't 10pm-4am make a lot more sense? Is anyone here up until 1am?

Good Afternoon Wrightwood Community Leaders:
Sharing a friendly reminder the grid hardening work originally scheduled to take place from 5/12-5/19 was rescheduled to 5/29-6/3. The planned work remains the same and will now also bundle the replacement of a pole damaged by a car accident on 5/10 in Phelan that impacted a circuit feeder into Wrightwood. 

SCE customers are only expected to experience two outages related to this work: The first on 5/29/26 from 1AM – 6AM as customers are transitioned from circuit power to generator power. These customers will remain on backup generation during the work. The second outage will be on 6/3/26 from 1AM – 6AM as SCE customers are transitioned from backup generator power to normal circuit power. Customers have received appropriate notifications as described below:

    Planned outage on 05/29 at 0100-0600: Initial notification was sent to customers on 05/15/26 via digital channels (email, voice message and/or text)
    Planned outage on 06/03 at 0100-0600: Initial notification was sent to customers on 05/22/26 via digital channels (email, voice message and/or text)

Verizon and AT&T are both down???

Our Verizon cell phone service seems to be problematic today. East end of town. I've had no signal most of the day so far, although occasionally a weak signal is available.

For months, my phone has been using WiFi Calling almost exclusively.

Switched to T Mobile and now it's down???

Good friend of mine is a Telecom engineer, working mostly with Cellular.

I know where the cell is above Big Bennys' but I havent found a way to get to the fence.  On the fence there will be a sign (maybe more than one) with a phone number.  I'd love to know the phone number(s) on those signs.

The cell itself probably does not belong to T-Mobile or AT&T or Verizon.

It probably belongs to Crown Castle or American Tower or someone like that.  If their cell is down, more than one carrier can be down.

I did notice that all of our calls today are through WiFi, not a Verizon cell, but that's normal.

I think Verizon has a second cell that covers CA-2 from town to 138.

We also know from past outages that the cells only have about 8 hours of backup power.  UIA has solid emergency power, and I can power the internet and WiFi in my home, so that's good.
