Great info on the vipers!
Someone should start a rattlesnake thread..
I wonder if Timber Rattlers would respond to the flute the same way Cobras do?
That's the only way I could get macros of them.
Rattlesnakes are so fiesty!

Is the snake I posted a Timber Rattler?  I guess its not a Mojave Green.

Looks like that might be a:
Southern Pacific Rattlesnake
Crotalus oreganus helleri

The color scheme and pattern is right for the body, but not the head.
There might be variations within the species.
What do you think?

I think you are right that it is a Southern Pacific Rattlesnake.  The below picture shows my snake with a picture showing the S. Pacific Rattler.  It sure looks like a match to me.

Very cute dogs :)  Thanks for posting them!

Are you saving it to Photobucket?  If so all you need to do is copy the address location, select add photo,, and then paste.  When we get back if you like you can drop by and I will show you how, if it still isn't working.

Mogli

This little guy is plum worn out, took him to Mountaineer Days on Sat, then to the Inn where he slept on the deck while I had a few adult beverages, then to a friends house....

Today, he slept 6 hours, then off to town for a bit more socialization and home to play...

He has learned to run up and down the stairs, in one day and where he wants to sleep, under my bed.  LOL

Oh the joy of a puppy, great but tiring.  I have learned, just like a baby, to sleep when he does....  He is getting to know the big dogs, but my mail is being a bit territorial and does this growling that sends Mogli onto my lap...  He has spent about 20 min alone with the dogs twice with his new mom peeking out the window.....

Awsum puppy....we where looking forward to getting a puppy fix and puppy breath licks at Mountaineer days ;D but I guess we missed your window of attendence.

This is Lucy's puppy picture...very red fawn for a boxer. She's become quite the helper in the garage...like walking off with my tools.

Buster, on the other hand likes to walk off with the parts. Fortunately this was not going back on the bike.

Nah.....it's a ventilation duct we removed to install my buddy's ham radio in his BMW RT1100. We tossed it on the ground and Buster.....had his way with it. ;D

I call this "Tabby Love Fest"  Marley is on the left, Dexter on the right- when we first got Dexter.  (these two are not related)
