We saw Blues a few summers ago in the Santa Barbara Channel. They were just amazing. We also saw a Minke, plenty of Common Dolphins (one of my favorites to watch!) and Risso's.

Here is a Blue.

I've been all around Catalina on the Gray Whale trip.

Cruising the San Juan's and seeing Orcas is on my Top 10 list. Can't wait to check it off! I hope we can get some good pics.

Next goal will be Humpbacks.

Pop goes the weasel. Or in the winter his name changes to Hermin the Ermine.

Do you know how hard it is trying to take a picture of something that will not hold still for one second?

Took me awhile to get through all these pictures on here..but I did.
If I had to be a judge at a fair, it would be a tough one to call, but I would have to give everyone a blue ribbon.

What a great pic!!! One way you can try to get pics of moving critters besides upping the shutter speed is to use bracket shots if your camera has this feature.

Somethings don't move, even if you almost step on them.

We call them Fawn-Mines :) They're all grown now thank goodness.

Awwwwwww!  Tumblebush, I'm trying to decide which of your adorable animal pics I'm going to use for my desktop photo for now - hope you don't mind.  From the pics of the weasel and the fawn, and the grasses, it looks as if the 2 critters were photographed in the same general area?  Just curious, do you live in Alaska?

Don't mind at all. Sharing is what it's all about.  :)
One was in the backyard, the other in the front yard. So I guess you would say they were in the same general area.
Alaska? Close but not close enough for me. I'm almost in Canada up by a little town called Northport, Wa.

Tumblebush, for now, I've chosen the fawn that's practically hidden in the grasses.  Can't believe how large its ears are, for such a tiny creature.  I love baby animals!  I visited my sister in NW Portland a couple of weeks ago.  Their home is very near Forest Park, if you're familiar with that area.  They have lots of deer that visit regularly in their neighborhood, and while strolling several blocks in the area, I saw several pots of what were supposed to be flowering geraniums, but instead saw potfuls of stems and leaves, no flowers.  I would think geraniums would be too pungent, but I guess not.  My sis seems to now have deer-proof plants in her front yard, but we'll see.....
