Just a little concerned about the fire being described over at the Largo Vista area, if it's affecting the N4 way out of Wrightwood.  I'll be leaving after 5 p.m. so I can't go that way.

Is or is not N4 and/or Largo Vista being affected?  Anyone?

If it is then shouldn't they keep on flagging so we have a safe way out of Wrightwood?

Just a thought.   ???

Fire at 138 and Hwy 18

my view...

there are 2 big fires in the area.
Fire #1:off the 15 that has burned its way over to the morman rocks and is headed towards west cajon valley

Fire #2: In the area of highway 138, highway 18, and Largo Vista (Im not seeing anything about any closures. Ill update if i can find out anything)

There were reports of a fire at highway 138 and sheep creek and that turned out to be false... or at least thats what im hearing.

At the present N4 is your only option and it is questionable. When/if you get home let us know about its status.

GOOD LUCK

ForestGal:

From  PinionMesaJon(From the other thread):
As of about 4:00, Lone Pine was open. 138 was open from I-15 to Lone Pine - closed west of that point.

Thanks, kew - I'll be leaving in a few minutes and am going to avoid the freeway.  Sure hope Largo Vista will be ok by the time I get there.

I just came up Largo Vista, the fire in that area is east of it.  I sat at the flagging for awhile and they would not let us thru, even WW residents as they did not have anyone to escort us...  STUPID.  I had to drive all the way around as they would not have someone take us the one-two miles thru.  Talked to CHP and everything....  UGH.....

So it took me almost 2.5 hours to get from VV......

I passed this fire on the fwy at 1:00pm and there were no flames and it appeared it was out, I wonder what the h#ll happened?

Good Luck and I would stay on the mtn, just in case...

Thanks for the Largo Vista update, Angelwolf.  I'm leaving Apple Valley right now and I really want to be able to get home.

I made it home from Apple Valley with no problems at all!  Taking 18 to 138 to Largo Vista, it was 47 miles from where I work, and it took me an hour, only about 13 miles and 20 minutes longer than LPC to 15.

Thanks again for everyone's updates.  What would we do without this forum?   :2thumbsup:

I would be lost......  I wish I could access it by my cell phone......  LOL  Then I would know what is happening.  But when I can't get thru to someone in WW, I call Mile High Pizza and they always know what is going on....  Thanks LAS and the boys...
