We drove our son to his new base in Fallon, NV last weekend, and I loved watching the fighter jets do touch & goes! Right across the street I spotted a nest with some Red-Tailed Hawks, and some yellow headed blackbirds. I could not decide what to take a picture of...the red tailed hawks, black birds, or the jets!! 
Of course it was almost dark when I took these, so I look forward to taking some with blue skys!!

 Since we use to work ground comm. at So. Bay air shows we had opportunity to shoot from the tower from time to time during media day before the crowds. Being a Navy brat myself and Pop's in service when this bird was in service.. kinda cool.

 I use to fool around with Macro years ago with ring adaptors and waste an awful lot of 35mm film. I recently upgraded my old Canon G-3 through the Canon upgrade system to a G-9. Too bad they don't offer upgrades for SLR's  :'(   

 I walked past our blooming cherry tree and heard the swarm and thought I'd try out the Macro setting with the G-9 on complete Auto settings and see what I'd get.

 I was pleasently surprised with the results from a simple pocket cam. Even though you can set white balance manualy I was equally impressed with the AWB setting.

 It's no sport's or high speed action camera, but I think I'll enjoy it's features for hikes and what it was intended for, simplicity.

Toolman? Is the propeller on that yellow plane stuck or are you using some kinda supersonic camera shutter?  ???

 Camera setting details,manual RAW focal= 200mm, F-2.8, ISO 200, shutter 1200

Photoshop= crop to 8x10, 1.5% unsharp mask

 Here's a few shots you don't get to take every day. Last year we were invited to participate in demonstrating some of our projects for the TV show " Amazing Marvels " and was able to get a few shots of the Swat guys haming it up for the cameras. All weapons unloaded except the live flash bangs they tossed in the excersize houses.














In this shot, what's the rear back up doing wrong ?
