FIGHT ON. Is that a surveyor monument implanted in that huge boulder? How big was that boulder? I always thought they would put it in bedrock.

Where were you standing to get those shots Doug? They are stunning!!! What were your settings? How much PS work was done... It jumps out of the screen!!!

Sadly I had to turn down a digital imaging teaching job that would have started today due to prior commitments...but you are making me feel better about it by asking these types of questions.

I took out an entire pole in PS, and then slightly simmered it to how I like it in Lightroom.

The shot could have been even better had I been ready for the train, I was setting up for a pano when it suddenly appeared.
Shutter speed was a tad slow,
1/30
ISO 100
f16
50mm 1.4 lens
the 1:3 crop is because I have a 36 x 12 frame that I want to use.
Here is how it looked out of camera:

with the crop, the pole was distracting....

At my mother in law's she has hanging plants. Each year these birds have their little chicks. Out of reach from cats.

Thanks, of course everytime I look at the picture, I think of those poor sea turtles, and other wildlife in the oil spill....
