Mountain Classic Car Show 2007
« on: Aug 19, 04, 02:52:36 PM »
Just a reminder that this weekend Wrightwood will be the host of the 10th annual Mountain Classic Car Show.  Currently there are over 200 cars pre-registered!

The event will take place in and around the center of town.  The band Music Formula will be performing in town.  Cars will be on display on Park and surrounding streets.

Pit Alley will be in the parking lot between the hardware store and the Wrightwood Inn.  In Pit Alley there will be race cars, custom motorcycles and mirco-reality stock cars.

The band Green with NV will be performing in Pit Alley during the day on Saturday 10-3pm.  If you have heard them before you know how good they are.

Friday night there is a no-host cocktail reception (adults only) from 5-7 at the Wrightwood Inn with light appetizers.

The band Green with NV will perform Friday starting at 9pm at the Inn.

Come on out and check out all of the fantastic cars on display and enjoy all the events around town this weekend.

More information can be found at the Wrightwood Chamber's web site.

We have over 200 cars pre-paid for the show and expect a lot more at the opening.   Some are already in town.
Please support  this tremendous Wrightwood event, and welcome all our guests.  We hope they'll come back when there's not an event.  Wrightwood is a great day trip.

RE; The old Jeeps.

I am going to be posting an announcemnt in the Around The Village section letting everyone know there will be a gathering of West Coast Willys in Wrightwood on Saturday, September 25 from 9:00 a.m., till ?

We are inviting any and all Willys & Jeeps owners to drive their vehicles to the empty lot next to Jensen's, across from the WW Minimart, where Ray has graciously allowed us to use his lot, to gather and talk and enjoy old and new Willys & Jeeps.

Please put the word out we would like to make this and annual event. Weather and fire danger permitting we are thinking of a cruise through the forrest as well.

I have spoken to some Willys owners including the owner of the 58 truck on Lone Pine and have been assured they will be attending.  If you don't have the pleasure of owning a Jeep or Willys but enjoy them, stop in maybe you will find one!!!  If you have questions you may reach me at 3991.

Hope to see you on Saturday Sept 25!!!

THANKS TO ALL WHO PUT ON THIS GREAT EVENT!! It is one of the best organized events in WW!  Were less cars this year than last?  Kinda seemed like it.

Is there a website for the car show? I'd like to send it to some friends or maybe the picture of the flyer.

I hope that Hemi-'Cuda shows up again this year. With the Shaker Hood and  twin 4 barrels.
Hot Rod magazine did an article here lately about them and re-tested the horsepower rating they gave themselves back in the '60's and found they actually were putting out another 140 hp.... almost 600 hp!  They were downplaying it for the insurance companies-- I guess. They sure were fast.
A rare covertible model just got over 3 million dollars at an auto auction.
