I love the car show, too.  It does bring a great many people here, and they do spend money.  If people see a community pulling together and see the magnificance of Wrightwood, they will want to come back.  Leo could still use some volunteers to help with parking and a few other small tasks.  Please get involved in the mechanics of putting on an event of this size.

 Volunteers!!!!!

Thanks! Leo 8-11am   at the  WW Inn (249-5039) and Greg   3-6pm can give you a choice of tasks and times...... from early am parking help to late afternoon  barricade put away....Talk to them. Seems like it's always the same overworked people  doing everything up here!......

BTW....The Mr Clean Show, Fresh off a Lukewarm performance at the Screamijng Chicken in Devore,  will be extending their "One Step Ahead of the Bounty Hunter" Tour at the Main Pavillion, starting somewhere around the Crack of Noon....with special songs dedicated to the retirement of "Two Buck Chuck" and the ballads..."That's the day my wife met  my girlfriend "   and the  everpopular "That's why I'm screwing your sister". Get there early and hear "If I only had a gun" by Dick Cheney.  Before they pull the plug.
Free Tequila for the first 50 guests (Still working on this perk with the management)....But here at the Mr Clean Show, We don't sweat the small stuff.

And for those of you wondering....The Bad Habit Abbots have been fired for good this time (hopefully) and he will be accompanied by the  Loose Caboose Orchestra and Choir.

Hope to see you all there!

Wow, this sure snuck up on me.  I have friends who I told about it last year and they want to come up.  I was thinking it was in September.

What are the hours of the car show?  I don't see it here or on the Chamber website.

There's 3 different sites for Wrightwood with car show info...

I like www.wrightwood.biz slideshow. Good job Dale!

There's also www.wrightwoodchamber.org that is current and www.wrightwoodcalifornia.com/chamber  that has  info from the 2004 show.

The www.wrightwoodmtncarshow.com site is showing info from 2006.

The Wrightwood Chamber website is:
wrightwoodchamber.org  NOT wrightwoodchamber.net

Here's the correct 2007 information from the Chamber:
http://www.wrightwoodchamber.org/carshow.htm

A lot of VERY impressive cars - and I'm not a car person and don't know a thing about cars, but they were fun to look at.

And of course WDPT is selling emergency kits in the bank parking lot!

Someone told me today that this was their favorite car show of them all, mainly because of the way the town is laidout.
Makes it easy to see all the cars. Also the good music  that they didn't seem to skimp on...There were 3 bands playing.

For alot of years it was the same old cars....but this year there was aot of new blood entered and a noticeable change.
The best in show was between a '71 BarraCuda and a '64 El Camino....The El camino truck won. (The Cuda wasn't a Hemi)

What is a Hemi?  (You can tell how much I know about cars.)

Sounds like I missed a great event - I was stuck at work.  :(  I love to look at those old cars,  and it sounds as if this year's show was better than ever.
