Nice shots! How far away from the deer were you?

I'd estimate 125 to 150 feet

You really are out there a lot and very lucky to come across all these animals. And to get nice shots like you do!  :)

With Hwy2 open I spent a few hours this morning looking for Bighorn sheep near Hwy39. Photos were taken at a distance of about 1/2 - 3/4 mile using a Canon digital D60 with 640mm lens - hand held.

Wrightwood,
The first picture today reminded me of a  mug shot I saw of Clint.

Close enough to need a shower when I got home as I smelled like sheep.

Most of the 300+ photos were taken about 30-50 yards (90-150 feet).

Here's a picture of Wrightwood's premiere Bighorn Sheep expert and wildlife photographer Tim Glenner at about 50 yards from the Wrightwood Bighorns.

Amazing pics of an incredible animal, and to think they are so close!
I must admit I would give my left arm for the  10D, it will be my  #1
wish for many Christmas's to come!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos with us.
