It is with profound sadness we inform you that our longstanding board member, Hank Hallmark has passed away.
Hank has been on the WFSC Board for over 20 years. His experience and expertise in the insurance industry and the valuable contributions he made to the Fire Safe Council are too numerous to name.
In addition to his volunteer service to the WFSC, Hank has always been a supporter of most of the worthy and crucial causes in the village of Wrightwood. First to donate, volunteer or support, Hank could always be counted on to help.
This loss leaves our community with yet another hole in our hearts and immeasurable sadness.
Please keep his wife Kris, his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

« Last post by lwt42 on Sep 04, 26, 04:30:08 PM »Our Verizon cell phone service seems to be problematic today. East end of town. I've had no signal most of the day so far, although occasionally a weak signal is available.Also on Verizon.
For months, my phone has been using WiFi Calling almost exclusively.
We not that far from the cell site above Big Bennys'

#Summit Fire
The Summit fire has been declared 100% contained as of 6pm today.
Incident Commander Paul Montano stated firefighters would continue to patrol the fire for next several days checking for any residual smoke or flames from within the fire perimeter.
The fire was initially reported near Jesus Canyon Rd East and Avenue Z, Llano shortly before 1:00 PM on July 10, 2026. The fire burned 2,690 acres before the forward spread of the fire was halted.
At the peak of the firefight, 1,060 personnel were assigned to the incident, jointly managed under unified command with the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Angeles National Forest, CAL FIRE Inyo Mono San Bernardino Unit and the San Bernardino County Fire Department.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
