Beginning in June, the Fire Hazard Abatement Team will begin their annual defensible space inspections in the mountain communities of Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, Valley of Enchantment, Cedar Pines Park, Rim Forest, Twin Peaks, Green Valley Lake, Arrowbear, Fawnskin, Angelus Oaks, Forest Falls, Mountain Home Village, Wrightwood, and Lytle Creek.

Landowners can proactively maintain their property free of fire hazards, create defensible space, and avoid receiving an Abatement Notice by:

Pruning plants and trees to remove dead material
    Removing dead trees and plants
Removing trees that that are smaller than four inches in diameter and stand within 10 feet of other trees and within 30 feet of a structure
Tree trimming to remove branches that are within six feet of the ground on trees that are more than 12 feet in height and stand within 100 feet a structure, or within 10 feet of a road or driveway
Removing dead branches, debris, and leaf litter from the ground and the roofs of structures
Removing pine needles greater than two inches in depth from the ground
Removing shrubs and plants with high pyrophytic characteristics such as Manzanita, Juniper, Service Berry, Mountain Whitethorn, Sage, Ironwood and Spanish Broom that stand within 15 feet of a structure, or 10 feet of a road or driveway
Spacing shrubs and plants with high pyrophytic characteristics that stand within 15-30 feet of a structure

Recommendations / Help moving two planters
« Last post by lwt42 on Yesterday at 06:03:02 PM »
Looking for a couple of people (probably with a small truck) to help move a couple of planters.

These are whisky-barrel planters with small trees.  They're only moving about a mile or so.

Any recommendation would be great.

RECORD SETTING DAY at the pine needle and green waste collection event today.
289 vehicle loads of waste was dropped off today. That filled 10 forty yard bins.
This is the largest single day drop off number in the event’s history which started in 2007.

Keep up the good work Wrightwood. This event will continue tomorrow from 9am until 3pm.
Get your yards cleaned up before the County starts property inspections on June 1st.

Good Afternoon Wrightwood Community Leaders:
Sharing a friendly reminder the grid hardening work originally scheduled to take place from 5/12-5/19 was rescheduled to 5/29-6/3. The planned work remains the same and will now also bundle the replacement of a pole damaged by a car accident on 5/10 in Phelan that impacted a circuit feeder into Wrightwood.

SCE customers are only expected to experience two outages related to this work: The first on 5/29/26 from 1AM – 6AM as customers are transitioned from circuit power to generator power. These customers will remain on backup generation during the work. The second outage will be on 6/3/26 from 1AM – 6AM as SCE customers are transitioned from backup generator power to normal circuit power. Customers have received appropriate notifications as described below:

Planned outage on 05/29 at 0100-0600: Initial notification was sent to customers on 05/15/26 via digital channels (email, voice message and/or text)
Planned outage on 06/03 at 0100-0600: Initial notification was sent to customers on 05/22/26 via digital channels (email, voice message and/or text)

Thank you,
Carina Cabrera
Government Relations Manager
