There's a big difference between hiking that trail and running on it in the dark.

Is the Acorn Trail open right now?

I know Angeles NF is closed, but Acorn is in the SBNF.  So maybe it's open?  But
the SBNF map says "Administered by Angeles NF."  So maybe it's closed.  That map is old.  So maybe it's open.  Maybe the map is right, but even if that area is admin'd by ANF, is it closed?    My head hurts.  Somebody please help.   ??? ???   lol.

No, the Acorn Trail is closed right now as it falls within the ANF closure.

If the Angeles National Forest is closed, (or at least the San Gabriel Mountains portion of the forest is closed) than the San Bernardino NF administered by the Angeles NF portion is covered by that closure.  If it is administered by the ANF, than it is covered by the Forest Supervisor of the ANF.  If she signed a closure order, than it is closed.  This area of the SBF has been administered by the ANF since the 1960's.

OK, I think I got it.
If it's ANF - closed.
If it's SBNF admin by SBNF - open, even if W of the 15.
If it's SBNF admin by ANF - closed.

Makes sense (I think).
