McDill repeater site

Yesterday we road across the ridge from my place to Hauser and McDill.

This is the L.A. county radio site at McDill that burned.

I don't think the camera or anything else on this tower is operational. The hardline attenna feeds were in a melted mess at the bottom of the tower.

What a mess.
In the first photo it looks like a catwalk or ladder collapsed.

Were there structures or bunkers that burned?

This is the new home for one of the repeaters burned at the McDill site. I think they're going to notice a big difference in coverage.  Mountain tops are hard to beat. Nothing is active on this tower other then the antenna we put up.  It's a nice tower, easy to climb.

I scratched the lens on my camera on this job, I'm glad it can't be seen in the photos.  :'(
