There is no trail from Guffy down the southern side of Blue Ridge down into Lupine. You can take the road to just past the Heath Slide and hike in via the "Devil's backbone" trail that goes to the top of Pine Mountain, then hike down Pine Mountain Ridge (very steep and rocky) and meet up with the Fish Fork Trail that will take you down into the Lupine Area or you can use the old logging roads as well. We spent the night on Pine Mountain Ridge, but it was in August, 90 degrees and we had to carry all of our water. We got a ride out. I'm thankful we didn't have to hike back out.

You could also start at Vincent Gap and take the gulch trail down into the bottom of the canyon and work your way up to Cabin Flat and then on into Lupine, but I understand that the trail is pretty much non-existant. But again, nothing from the top of Blue Ridge. The road is the best way to go.
