This DMR Radio is VERY COOL. Though it is in it's infancy and has only been around for a few years, digital repeaters are springing up all over. Now that KI6KQU is online sitting atop Mt. Lukens, most of L.A. is digital.
I ordered my CS-700 radio on Friday afternoon (the people there are very helpful and friendly). It cost me $211.00 including shipping and programming cable. I received it less than 24 hours later, at 11:00 am Saturday morning and was up and running by afternoon, thanks to Darrell sending me the Code Plug. After just a few days, I feel like I really am starting to get this whole Talk Group thing.
The best part is that I can now "talk" into Wrightwood, or to Toolman in El Segundo while sitting in my house in Burbank using just a handheld. Audio is clear and crisp. It is definitely worth checking into.
