SNOWBOARD REQUEST
« on: Jan 08, 15, 07:04:15 PM »
Good Morning and have a very special request.  I just hope this is where I post it.

I have a life long friend who has an adaptive (handicapped) daughter who is really interested in
snowboarding.  She tried it once and loved it even though it was difficult for her.   She lost her Dad
in Afganistan 3 years ago and the snowboarding thing seems to put the smile back on her face.

I know this is asking a lot but I noticed at the last yard sale weekend that there we numerous used
snowboards being sold cheap.  I like to ask if anyone out there has a snowboard 146-148 that they might donate or sell cheap.

If you have one and would like to put a smile on a young ladies face, get back to me.

And, thanks in advance for your help.

Dave, I can't help you with the snowboard. But, you might let your friend know that they have special ski instructors for the disabled at Big Bear. .. I don't know about Mtn High. One of my granddaughters is blind and had a great big grin on her face when she learned to ski. cheryl o7o

Rentals are 1/2 price on Thurs evenings at Mt High.  They are also fairly cheap at the other ski shops in Wrightwood.   In my opinion its not worth it to buy until you know for certain they will keep it up and until kids are full grown .

Just want to say THANK YOU to Joe Sosa.   This morning at around 10AM there will be one happy pre teen on her way with me to Snow Valley with a snowboard in hand.   Lindsey is something very special and in need of a good time which we will be giving her and her Mom today.   Again,  THANK YOU JOE and please know that the smiles we'll be sharing this morning will be due to your generosity.
And, most mountain Winter Sport Schools offer "Adaptive" instructor's and lessons.  Bear Mtn and Mt. High two of the best.  If going to Mt. High I'd ask for Mark Lozano.   Crazy good instructor.
Today it will be on me and, Mical will tell you that I teach a mean snowboard class ON SKI'S.  :)

No better way to start the New Year off than sharing smiles.

Joe - We are ready to go.   Can you post here or give me a call.  Don't want to wake you up but have to say Lindsey just called and when I explained that I was waiting for you to get up she said "Go wake him up...................PLEASE".   So nice to see the "Stoke" coming back for her.
