Boy Scout Troop Trailer stolen
« on: Jan 12, 15, 04:52:06 PM »
Please help! Keep an eye out for our trailer or supplies!
On or around January 8, 2015, our Boy Scout Troop Trailer, with ALL OUR CAMPING EQUIPMENT was stolen from the enclosed yard of our Charter Church, Apple Valley Baptist. They cut the Chain lock on the gate, cut the hitch lock and door locks on the 16 foot trailer, and drove away with over $10,000 of equipment, including camp stoves, Coleman lanterns, 16 tents, 35 hydration packs, Three wooden patrol boxes filled with cooking pots and pans, dutch ovens, utensils, tarps, pop ups, backpacks, wood, rope, bear kegs, tarps, etc, all those things boys need to camp out. The troop is devastated and heartbroken. Please help us to rebuild what was stolen from us.

This is a huge loss for T357.  All troops spend an enormous amount of time and money to gather the equipment needed for successful camping trips.  Please keep an eye out for this trailer in your travels around the valley.

Yours in Scouting.

Sounds like they need a security system.  Also not a bad idea to take the wheels off the trailer.

That's a huge loss

Please keep us posted if indeed this is not covered by insurance and a list of items is being collected. As a former Camp Fire Girl I am well aware of what these programs provide to kids. What a bummer!

Interesting that they did not drive off with the trailer.

Well, they did.  Tire tracks are the only thing left, as far as I know at the moment...

It sounds like they left the locks that they cut off too. This is really unfortunate. I'm sure all that equipment meant way more than the money the thieves will get for it.

It would be great if someone could get in touch with the larger media outlets for this.

This is what happens when people sentenced to jail or state prison get released early because they are "non-violent" offenders. They however are still thieves!

Iris.. I'm a former Camp Fire Girl too! ( I had to sell my cookies in the snow in Buffalo.)  Plus, I am an Eagle Mom!!!! That credit goes to my son who earned it.

So, what do they need aside from everything and how are they proposing to collect it?  I know the value of scouting for both boys and girls.  I'll help if I can. cheryl o7o

Glad the trailer was found.  Too bad about the equipment.  Please post any fundraisers so we can participate.  My son loved scouts

Well said.  Oh....they're letting another wave of these folks out this year.  I sat on Jury Duty on some local ones yesterday (didn't get selected....Defendants attorneys didn't like that I had so many law enforcement friends I guess).

Jim.. It was your moustache.

I'm not on Facebook. So, aside from the dinner in Apple Valley, if anyone has a mailing address for the troop.. please post it here. Thanks, cheryl o7o

This appears to be a different troop and different theft than the supplies stolen from the Apple Valley troop.  Regardless, I am glad that at least some of the troops' supplies were recovered.

And a pox on the persons responsible for stealing from either of these troops.

Sorry about the confusion - hard to believe that 2 Boy Scout trailers were stolen in such a short period of time.
