Does anyone have a photo of the ONT?

I'm hoping they can install inside my crawl space - easily accessible, just inside the door where the space is 4 feet high.

I wonder if there is any news on the installation schedule for section 3.
Just checked on Wrightwood.net but that has not been updated because
according to the published schedule, I should have it by now.
If I actually do - I don't see much of a difference   ;-)

Probably best to E-Mail Fiber@UIA.net.

If you do, please share the response with the rest of us waiting patiently.

I emailed Fiber@UIA.net and Wes himself answered me and told me that they are still in the process of laying the fiberoptic cable and will be ready to start service for Section 3 customers on June 1st.  I'm in Section 3 and can't wait to give Frontier the boot.

I asked, and got several answers, including one from Wes that sounded encouraging, including some very rough idea of a schedule.  It was good news.

I like the idea of a pool. There's actually precedent for this. There have been a number of recent vaporware campaigns that were only hurried along by a touch of sardonic humor. Can anyone say Elio?

I have a personal guesstimate, based on what Wes said.  He didn't give me a date.

My personal guess is that it won't take five months.

I have a feel for the variables and that's why there isn't much of a schedule.

Just saw some UIA trucks and people rolling out fiber over on E Canyon this morning - Seems like Section 4 is on its way.

We're in section 3 and haven't heard a word. Anyone here in section 3 had an installation done?

They are definitely hanging fiber in section 4.

First they hang fiber, then they splice, then they test, then they start installing.

I've noticed that the splicing trailer isn't in the lot next to UIA Wrightwood HQ, but I haven't found it.  One can hope that it's splicing section 3.

Writing to Fiber@UIA.net and asking might get more detail.  I think I know why this is good news, but I'm doing a lot of reading between the lines (and a little guesswork).

I have also seen them working on sect 4 which they deny.  They have not yet done much in sect 3 as far as I have seen.  Makes you wonders how much longer it may be.  On Facebook Kayla Ball from UIA posted "we have been installing fiber in section 3 for a several weeks now. We are projecting to go live by the end of May. Section 4 has not begun just yet due to permits, but we are pushing through section 3 to begin splicing and testing. We do not charge for our installation, and I can promise you that we will be able to run a fiber line into your home."  You can see their cable at Victorville on the line just south of outer Hwy 2 on the right between the 2 houses and it is run to there and has a dead end and has not been run across the street to the east side of the area.  You can see the line for pulling the cable across Victorville but it has been like that for months.

My wife talked to UIA awhile back and was told we would be one of the first installations in sec. 3 based on our position on the list. If they have been installing in our section for "several weeks", it must take a reallllly long time to do just one house.

Hi Guys! We have not installed any homes in section 3 or 4. Some of our terminals for section 3 do meet on the edges of section 4, but we have not begun running fiber for section 4 just yet. I promise we are not going out of order on any of our sections. We have our own aerial crew that specifically runs the strand to each pole, and our own installation crew that installs each home. We are planning to go live in section 3 by the end of May to early June. I hope this clears up the confusion! Thank you all for being so patient with us.

Thank you Kayball.  A little information goes a long way towards cultivating good customer satisfaction.  Please keep us in the loop by updating your website and our forum with this information and continue to keep it up to date.  Looking forward to Section 3!!  :)

Hi Kayla,

Are pole permits still the "pacing" issue?  I know Wes posted about that a while ago.
