Missing SkyDiver/Hang Glider pilot in local area
« on: May 08, 18, 02:07:20 AM »
Last night, Sheriff's 40 King was doing an extensive night time search for something in the Mountain Top area for over an hour and a half.  I checked with dispatch and she told me they were looking for a missing sky diver over our area.  That didn't make much sense and she had no details to release.  The air unit did a thorough job of gridding the area with their night sun and I am sure, the FLIR unit.  Because SBSD radios are now digitally encrypted, I wasn't able to listen in on the search.

Evidently, in the Phelan FB, someone posted pictures of someone/something falling.  Wondering if anyone has any current information on the outcome.  From the photos, things did not look promising.  I do remember responded to several calls of a plane crash in the levels area and it turned out to be someone who jumped off the slide in a hang glider and was being picked up by his van after a long and successful flight.  Hope this one has positive outcome.
