They're Back!

Check the Nature Cam (click on the yellow-brown Nature Cam button at the top of this page - you won't need to watch long during daylight hours as the birds are very active in building the nest)

In the spring of 2001 people from around the world watched our livecam as baby Steller's Jays were born.

This morning a pair of Steller's Jays started building a new nest in the same place as before. The camera was still in place and turned back on

Wow, it is nice to finally catch some wildlife on the nature cam. I was never lucky enough to catch anything on camera at the guzzler. It sure is nifty watching the Stellar do it's thing.

Another camera was installed directly above the nest and here's a short video of day 3 - nest building of the Steller's Jays:

I cant watch the cam it is just a black popup with a red X and on the bottom status bar and counts down from 359sec to 0 sec and closes

Is that when you push on the NatureCam button at the top of this page?

What about when you push the text link at the top of the page for the LiveCam Hwy2?

same thing... they use to work but this is a new laptop so im wondering if something on IE isnt turned on... just tried it on my moms laptop and it does the same thing $:-\$

Those popup windows do require Java to be enabled. I haven't changed the setup on those windows for a long time so it's probably your settings.

I have a nest in my yard that had three blue eggs in it about two weeks ago. After seeing this post I went to see them again and they are gone. I hope the cam gets some great pics of life.

Will you be able to record the actual act of the chicks cracking the shells. I would be great for the people that are not avialable at that time.

Yes. (unless mom is sitting on top of them blocking the view. From past experience the female is constantly turning the eggs and rearranging things so we should have a good show)

The camera signal is being feed into a DVR 24x7 (digital video recorder).
