It's probably an issue on how your browser is handling or should I say not handling Java.

Unfortunately Microsoft IE has had some real issues with Java.

Try downloading that latest Free Java program.

Are you using IE SP2 ?

If my calculations are right we should see eggs hatching between May 27 and June 1. (that's using 14 days from the 1st egg and 16 days from the 4th egg)

This is so cool to see! We have Stellar chicks in a nest under our deck. Not sure when they hatched, but heard the babies peeping last weekend. We have another crop of Titmouses (mice?) in a birdhouse out front. Mama is sitting on the nest--no babies yet.

Sorry, don't have anything as fancy as you! Besides, they aren't in a prime position for photography as your Stellar family. It's a happy occurance that they chose to nest in such an optimum location.

Hatch watch begins soon.

We've been watching mom (or dad) paying a lot more attention to the eggs since yesterday. Prior to that the eggs were looked at and rotated every 1/2 hour or so. Yesterday it seemed to be every 5-15 mintues the eggs were getting some type of attention.

Do Mom and Dad take turns in the Jay world, or is Mom left to care for the eggs herself?  I guess I could look this up on the internet, but I feel lazy.  From what I've been watching here, being a mommy bird looks like a pretty boring job a good bit of the time.  As stressful as my job can be at times - would I prefer to be a mommy bird?  Hmmmm.......

A little while ago I watched the cam and Mom appeared to be turning the eggs again.  What fascinates me is that Maw Nature just seems to give these creatures the knowledge of what to do, to make the babies turn out ok.  I never had a kid, but I would have had to be given MAJOR lessons!!!
