I think one of the birds just hopped into my yard. He only has a little blue on him and the bad haircut. I went to give him a cracker and he could not fly very well. He more like jumped around and flapped his wings.

In the pic you can still see the baby feathers. I took it with my phone so it is not that good.

Thanks for sharing, Thiassi!

Nice to see the little one's well! Or should it be able to fly better by now?

That might not be the same bird. Could just be another baby. I have seen four hanging out in the bushes to the side of my house. And one adult that yells at me when I get too close. He took one of the peanuts, I had for the squirrels, and was having a tough time getting it open. They can fly up to the roof and back, but I don't think much further.

From your description it sounds like it might be a different set of jays as the livecam jays are in the bushes 2-3 houses down from your house.

Tomorrow night on the 11pm Channel 4 news they are going to have a segment on nature cams. I guess there are a lot of people who are mounting cameras inside their bird houses and capturing some very interesting nature footage much like our own Wrightwood. Their tease for the segment tomorrow showed some nice bird videos.

Did anyone catch this?  Was it good?  Were our little ones mentioned??

The dog barking actually took place and is not part of the music.

The baby bird had only been on the ground for 2-3 minutes when the dog barked and was very attentive.
