Hands on radio workshop

CQ, CQ, CQ,

You have radios. Some of you have even talked on them.
So lets get together and make em work.

How about Saturday June 18th?

That's fathers day weekend.

09:00 at the Linnet Learning Center

I already have OKs from KG6ZEU and KG6ZEP.

I'll be there to unlock the door and make coffee.

It will be a lot more fun knowing that we won't be taking a test in the next few weeks.

John,
Why are you twice the administrator you used to be?

The software must know how much work this forum takes sometimes  ;)

Must be a bug in the software as I've seen it happen from time to time. As soon as I go into my profile and resave it, the 2nd administrator listing disappears.

Provided I don't get called into work that weekend, I'll be there as well!

I got my 220 radio yesterday evening when I got home. It's on the charger, so meanwhile I took a look at the manual--which is much better than the one that comes with the Vertex!

So who is on for tomorrow?

Alan will not be coming up.
Matt has a birthday party to attend.
Has anyone heard from Mike?

09:00, usual place, Linnet Learning Center. Bring radios, batteries, questions, and gifts of great value for the sensei. Just kidding.

Thanks for the workshop today Clint, you did an excellent job! But I must inform you that the yankee in me would not allow me to dump my old scanner without at least looking inside. I found two bad solder joints and repaired them and now it seems to be working. So now I will be trying to listen to you guys on Thursdays.

Okay, I talked to Clint and he is committed to have the workshop on Saturday,  October the 14th. John, he wanted me to ask you if the Linnet Center is available that morning. He would also like to ask those that are thinking of attending if a start time of 9am or 10am will work with people's schedules and also if they would be interested in ordering some pizzas for lunch that day. Please post your thoughts on this.

Yes the meeting room is available on Oct 14 and 9am sound good to me.

I surely don't plan on going off the hill in the month of Oct, on weekends, unless it's an emergency   ::)

I'd love to get reacquainted with my ham radio (which I actually need to purchase another one, as mine is over 10 years old with no charger) - but I have a conflict with the CERT training that day!

Well, since no one is responding to this, I have sent emails to all the students who have taken Clint's class. I had my email to Virginia Martin returned, so if anyone has her email or knows how to contact her, could you please let her know about the workshop.

Sorry ChattyCathy, but that is the date Clint gave me that he was available to teach the workshop. What do you think of the CERT training? Is Wayne on his game? ;)

Wayne had a conflict in scheduling and is not the instructor for this round of CERT training. There's a handful of instructors that are teaching this class. Zack Mullennix, San Bernardino County ECS Chief Radio Officer lead off the past Saturday's first class.
