It was dispatched as an attempted suicide.

99% of the time, medical evac helos are landed at the old CalTrans Yard outside of town because it is a safe, secure area.  Because it is not lit up, a pilot who had not landed there before might have had to do some searching to find it.  The big twin engine ships are pretty noisy.

Shmonsta heard on the scanner that a girl slit her wrists yesterday evening. Very sad situation, I hope they get her the help she needs.

If only people that try to commit suicide could foresee the total devestation that it brings to a family.  I just went through this with a co-worker and it has torn her family apart.

Suicide is one of the MOST selfish acts that a person can try to accomplish.

My heart goes out to the family and I hope they can get the help they need. This family will be added to my prayers, too.

(when I heard the 'copter, I was afraid a fire had broken out some where close!)

What a terrible situation, that was her attempt to cry out and let others no of her pain.  The entire family will need to get help in understanding what would lead a person to go to such measures and Gypsywolf is right, suicide leaves the friends and loved ones devastated and not knowing how they could have helped!
Let's pray the girl will recover and that help will be there for her and her family.  They all need support!

Hey guys,

From what I could gather on the scanner last night...it was an attempted suicide (lascerated wrists) occurring on Cedar cross of Irene.  I believe the girl was headed for Loma Linda.  I hope that she is okay.  People forget that what goes down...HAS to come back up.

Any news if she was okay???  Hope she is and her family is also...  Sad situation.

Was this related to the fire engines going up LPC to Desert View last night around 6pm?

Though lost of lives is heart-wrenching no matter how it happens, just in California alone, there are over 80 SUCCESSFUL suicides A WEEK!  :o More than the lost of lives in Iraq or on the open road.  Mental health is rarely looked at in our schools or our communities.  Advances have made recovery possible!  Hopefully positive effects will soon come of the recently passed Proposition 63.  :2thumbsup:

Does anyone know if this girl is okay?
Or, if the family needs any kind of help?

Is this a drill, a bad guy on the loose, or somebody missing?
Anybody know?
