Sunrise and sunset has always had meaning for folks.  Engineer/PM Steve Turner from Station 101 shared that sunrise was God's way of welcoming new souls into Heaven.  We've had a couple of spectacular one's lately.

Wildman, you made me want to share too. Those beautiful souls sent a message that day...here is the reason I thought that. When my SIL (more like a sister) passed last April and we were leaving the hospital, we were greeted by a rainbow. We took great comfort in that. That awful day at Mtn High, there was a beautiful rainbow, that lasted for over an HOUR! I have NEVER seen a rainbow last so long! So, to me, it was a message from those wonderful souls.....

Hey, what's the deal?  I'm part Asian, part Hawaiian, and I don't even carry a camera around with me (my ancestors would kick me outta the Fuji Film Club).  These pictures are unbelievable...they're great.  You'd expect to see them in frames, being sold at local Craft Fairs.  There's something to be said about getting away from the hustle and bustle of the flatlands that puts you more in touch with the artistic side of humanity.

Living up here gives me the ultimate in photo opportunities!  I just have to walk outside.....  It is one of the many reasons to live in Wrightwood.

Thanks for the appreciation of the photos posted here!

Angelwolf, these pics are amazing!  The one above, with the birds in the icy pine tree, just became my new desktop photo!  Do you know what kind of bird the one with the reddish head and breast is?  Just beautiful!   :2thumbsup:

That sure looks like a House Finch.  They come in several color phases and love the seeds.  The snow and cold don't bother them in the slightest.

This fellow doesn't eat seeds but Salmon.  Along the Skagit River.  We can see Eagles locally at Lake Silverwood, Big Bear Lake and Lake Hemet.  They also live on Catalina Island.

Wow, between you two, I don't know what to put on my desktop!  One of your eagle pics was on here for the last couple of weeks, Wildman.  It's nice to have so many beautiful choices!  Good job, everyone who posts these wonderful pics!  :2thumbsup:
