Pet or wildlife Photos?

Lots of velvet on them horns.  Is it Elk that never shed their horns.  I know deer do.

My dad said is was a young deer and you could tell he was young cuz the velvet was still there. 

I was actually 3 ft from him.  Hopped out of the car, he was in the median and walked slowly up to him.  Had the 18-85 lens on and I looked him in the eyes as I squatted down to capture him and he kind of said okay to me with his eyes, but get NO closer.  I took some shots, told him thanks and got back in the car. 

My dad said I was crazy that he could have tore me up....  I was not scared at all.  I gave him his space.  His eyes were so beautiful... 

I got another pic of a young elk with velvet on his antlers but I have not cropped it yet.  I will post when I do.

 At first I thought it may have been a Reindeer. But when I googled and read all about Reindeer, I was sooo wrong. While your cropping I'll post a couple of Legomorphmom's bunny's. She's probably already done this somewhere...but what the heck, they're cute.

I really like those goat pics gypsywolf.  Very nice.  When did you take them?

We took them on August 23rd.

We were soooo lucky that day. Apparently, Mt. Evans, Co.  is usually very cold and windy. The day we were there it was big, puffy monsoonal clouds and warm. The elevation there is 14,258 feet.

Can't recommend that drive enough if anyone gets the chance. First time I have ever been in an alpine tundra environment.

Nice pic Toolman... I have noticed our coyotes have a reddish tint to them lately.  Kind of like the darker colored yeller labs.

I took Chomper to Silverwood Lake last week. It was his first time in the water. Once he figured out that he could lay down in the water he was in heaven (first picture). He stayed in that same spot for almost an hour.

Chomper looks like a fun loving dog.....and probably doesn't believe he's a dog....more like he's human....
