I'm on Elm and haven't been off recently.
I'm on the net 12 to 14 hours a day and have had no problems.

DSL is Extra, Extra, Extra Slow today!  It's taking forever for pages to open...so frustrating to pay for such inadequate service from Verizon.

How odd! Mine is extra fast right now! Not quite Fios, when it was working as advertised--which was rarely, but impressive.

the last week Verizon DSL has been terribly slow for me, even after all the troubleshooting. Anyone else?

Mine has been, too.  I don't know how to do any trouble shooting, except to just turn off the computer for a while and restart it.  It seems OK right now, but it's been driving me nuts this week.

We use DSL Extreme as our ISP but still have to use Verizon as the data provider. During the past week we've noticed long delays at times and this morning I rebooted routers and network switches to insure it wasn't on our end.

We have Verizon as both ISP and provider.  I've had to reboot both the DSL modem and router twice this week.  Normally it is stable for weeks/months at a time...

How do you reboot the DSL modem, and how would you know when that needs to be done?  I don't know what a router is, I don't think I have one.  What does rebooting the modem do?  I just turn off the computer and restart it, when the thing gets really slow.

Resetting the modem 'clears and resets it's brain' so to speak. All you need to do is switch it off (or unplug the power if there is no switch), wait a few seconds and then turn it back on. This will reboot it. Whenever you don't have service, try this first.

You probably don't have a router unless you have more than one computer as a router allows more than one computer to share the DSL line.

Restarting your computer usually only helps if your computer is slow, ie files taking a long time to open. You may also find it helps to restart Firefox, which I think you use, if you've been browsing for a long time with many open tabs. You can save all the tabs using Session Manager addon, it's one of my essentials.

Thanks, lagomorphmom!  Yes, I indeed use Firefox, and the only time I don't have service is when the power is out, so I guess I really haven't needed to reboot the modem.  And this is the only computer I have, so I'm pretty sure there is no router here.

For some reason, this computer just doesn't like IE any more.  I've been using Firefox for a couple of years, but last week when my sis was visiting, she tried to open her e-mails using IE, not knowing that I don't use it, and it gave her all kinds of fits.  I told her to start over and try it with Firefox, and it worked just fine.  Any reason why IE just won't work here?

Is everyone else still having slowwww issues? This is getting absurd. I can't even watch a movie on Netflix or something on Youtube without it constantly "reloading". It hardly every used to be that way. I want to know if it's still an issue with others before I call Verizon.

Incredibly slow DSL - anyone else?
It's been pretty lethargic over the past few days, but today is really slow. We pay the big bucks for the higher speeds, but this is ridiculous. Anyone else experiencing lagging DSL today?
