Freeze killed my gardenia?
« on: Jan 29, 07, 06:36:25 PM »
Okay, I was dense and forgot to cover or even bring my beautiful gardenia in off the porch when we had the very cold weather a couple of weeks ago. Usually I make sure everything is well watered, that seems to help but I had been sick and forgot.
I have just noticed it is looking crispy. :(

Should I just leave it and cut it back in the spring or do it now?
Even one of the huge marguerite daisies I have in the garden has been hurt.

Any suggestions would be most welcome. :)

Thank you.

i can't guarantee this is true. but once i read leaving dying leaves on is good, because the healthy leaves get strength from them. but i guess this could also cause disease.

i leave house plant leaves on with no problem.

Thank you Sir Pete, LOL, I think you are supposed to take of the dead 'uns inside though..  ;)

I just guess I leave the outside ones till it gets warmer and then assess. :)
