I have three Linksys routers running with model number listed and haven't noticed the problem. I posted the information as a reminder just in case.

This post could get me started on a rant about RFI interference from any and all electronic gizmo's that don't meet RFI standards but yet are on the market today due to the lack of inforcement and inspections. I once DF'd a door bell on the next block and baby monitors and garage door openers are the worst offenders. In any case, not to worry, unless your an HF operator were all this man mad noise becomes present. This is why I have a hatred for vertical HF antennas....absoultely useless as far as I'm concerned unless your on the North Pole and they still don't function well.

So if your an HF operator and you blast through your neighbors TV, VCR, cordless phone, stereo, etc. even though your station is within specification including a low pass filter, remind him of that 69.95 vcr has little to non RFI filtration in it and hand them a copy of the RFI filtration pamphlet of standards available on the FCC website. I have plenty of them printed up for just such occasion and have handed them out. Ham radio's meet strict testing before going to the public and an FCC field agent tested my HF staion even at a kilowatt of power and I'm in spec. Doesn't matter, the crap on the market now days is just that....crap.

Depending on the frq. and harmonic values, UHF and VHF can be offended to your receiver of your VHF-UHF radio. There's a bunch of loose open cables the cable guys do not shunt properly around town. The worst offender to UHF is radar and nothing filters that out completely. I have the best 4 can  system available on the market for repeater I run and we still get pounded by radar from passing ships off the coast.

We have a wireless router as well with no Ill effects.

Not to worry Funky....your little 5watt HT isn't going to bother any of your neighbors. ;) However, HT receiver's are pretty sensitive. If your still using an older tube monitor, put your HT close to it and you'll here it break squelch. Key up your HT next to your computer speakers and you'll blast them out with less than 5 watts....again....crappy cheap non shielded....get past the system speakers.

So again I say...go to the FCC website and download the RFI interference pampflet and if you come across your neighbors computer speakers or any electronic device....hand it to them with a smile....it will explain it all.
