Do you mean dead bolts? I plan to look into the 'bump-proof' cylinders, at least more about how (if) they work, etc. I only glanced at the one site that sells them but looks like if you already have Schlage locks, you can just replace the cylinder. IF that is so, that would be nice, although it's not that much to replace a door lock if it's just the simple knob or dead bolt.

No I'm talking about Master Lock Pad locks. They can be bumped too

I was looking online for further information, and came across this very interesting article.  It's on a San Diego County (Florida) real estate website, but the info comes from a local locksmith.  It puts this issue into a bit different light.

If you search youtube for "bump key", there are hundreds of videos on how to make and use bump keys for almost any lock.  One kid shows how to bump a regular bike pad lock, I'm assuming to steal bikes! 

There are locks out there that are bump key safe (make that, safer), meaning they are not able to be opened by a bump key at all (or not easiley opened by one). 

Locks made by Medeco, Mul-T-Lock (sister companies), Schlage, and other manufacturers are advertised to be bump proof. Medeco and Schlage Primus locks are advertised as unbumpable due to sidebars that must be aligned to a specific depth to enable pin movement and pins chiseled at angles to further thwart bumping.[8][9]

I'd say take it easy on all this hype. Locks keep honest people honest.

This has been around a long time just like using channel locks on door knobs or jarring sliding glass doors and windows.

Don't go and change all your door locks. Spend the time and effort to take all the precautions that are recommended by police agencies.
