When is the next ham radio class in WW?

The class is two days on a weekend. 9:00 - 12:00 / 1 hour lunch break / 1:00 - 4:00  six hours on Saturday and six hours on Sunday.

Then I try to schedule the test session for the following Saturday at 9:00 and it takes about an hour.

I think I have enough folks for a class so I will look at weekends and poll the list for conflicts.

July 19 and 20 would work fine for us.  Yes, we had a mailing address in Brea - we actually lived out by Lake Mathews back then.  Now we're just over the ridge in West Cajon, off Hess Road, though our mail comes to Phelan for added security.

Just got two more confirmations this morning so we have twelve confirmed. That's my usual cut off number. I can squeeze in a couple more if need be. If you have signed up and can't attend for any reason let me know as I am now starting a stand by list.

We are now filled with 15 students signed up. This will be our largest class to date. So if you have a change in plans let me know so an alternate could have your spot.

You won't get a response here from Clint, as he has told me he no longer is part of, or checks into this forum.  I suggest you email him to see if he has any classes in mind for the near future in Wrightwood.

Better yet, I'll be working with him this Saturday as part of the Wrightwood Golden Guardian Earthquake Preparedness Exercise and will ask him about it and report back.

I know how to bring him out and schedule something.  If he doesn't schedule something then you will have to start taking your class by taking the tests in this website.  Read the book too.

Worked with Lin, Karen and Clint today in the Wrightwood Emergency COMM Center during the disaster drill.  It was a pleasure working with all three of them and the control room ran very smoothly.  Clint told me he is going to have another HAM class, tentively in January.

Many of the HAMs that participated in the exercise today are former Clint students and the drill went very well.

We will have more details on the class as the time approaches. My wife Kim needs to get her HAM license as well.  I got my license through hours of study and memorizing each of the 300 + questons possible then doing the 12 different tests online over and over until I was 100% correct everytime.  Kim isn't as anal as me.  Clint's class will be the perfect thing for Kim.  A concise and practical approach to HAM radio and passing the test, with emphasis on things you need to know and will use as a HAM operator.

My hubby and I took Clint's last class (great job Clint ).  We never took the test due to family issues...anyway, we may want to take the test with this next class. HOWEVER,  we live in Phelan and wonder if it will be a major deal to get into WW on a weekend? I guess that will depend if there is more snow!

I suspect that with the way the snow is melting, that by 17th there won't be that many splayers.  It wasn't that bad this past Sunday, even though Saturday was a nightmare.  Of course if it snows again before then, it might be a different story.

Long Range computer models shows High Pressure setting up over us and keeping all the storms well north of us through the 21st of January.
