CHP - Victorville

Due to adverse weather conditions the following closures have been put in place by Caltrans and County Roads:
SR-2 is closed from SR-138 to LA county line for non-residents. For residents R-3 chain requirements are in effect. Meaning chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles, no exceptions

Lone Pine Canyon Road has been closed temporarily at SR-138 due to icy roadway conditions.
In the Lucerne Valley area southbound SR-18 is closed just past the Mitsubishi cement plant going into Big Bear. The northbound lane is open but R-3 chain requirements are in effect. Meaning chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles, no exceptions.

My friend just tried to go to Stater Bros. She was able to make it down to 138 but was not allowed to turn left. So she came home.

Last post I saw is that the 2 is open to residents only. R3 chain control on all vehicles. The side streets are a whole other story. You can use this map for current conditions. This site is generally a head of this map on closures, status, etc.

FYI Post office counter is closed today

From what I can see from a little drive I took, much of Highway 2 (and county side streets) have at best, one lane of traffic cleared. Shoulders not even plowed yet. Just west of Spruce, Caltrans is using a front loader to scoop up snow from the shoulder. They dump the snow into the wash. It's a slow process. I don't think they want to use plows any more, because there isn't many places where they can push all that extra snow off to the sides. Approaching the LA side of town, highway 2 looks worse. Still a single lane in many places.

Just an FYI I was able to get an Instacart order (Stater Bros) delivered yesterday.
I asked the driver and she said she showed officers that she was on a delivery and was let in.
