Another Skunk here.  Like Keltnip I take the 2 to 138 when I'm on 4 wheels or in more of a hurry and any of the mentioned variations startring from Big Pines when on 2 wheels.

I call the drive between 45 and 60 min each way, depending on who you get behind.  Don't try the make 45 min with aggressive passing, that's my vision on 'blood alley'.

Check your PM for info on a potential vanpool I hear of recently.

And another Skunk.  Hwy 138 to Palmdale is much better than it was a few years ago.  Hwy improvements have helped but much work is still needed.  Someone at work is moving up here in a few months and he is trying to start a Vanpool.  My info for this person is at work but I will send it to you.  Lockheed is good at adjusting our hours for carpooling.  You can check "Insite" for a list of open seats for Van and carpools.  Insite is the Lockheed internal internet site.  I know two people from work that live here.
