I've got a nice Bencher, and a straight key, that I did enjoy using every now and then. I never used it enough to remain proficient at my class level.
The Bencher especially, is a pretty looking contraption, and sadly collects dust on my shelf now.
I got interested in CW when my elmer (Bill Welsch, W6DDB in Lancaster) invited me to his house to talk about the whole thing. So there we were, in his office. He's carrying on a conversation with me, and at the same time he's frantically keying away with one hand, and having a QSO with someone on HF. And he did it with such ease. That was impressive. He's one of those fellows, that could probably listen to RTTY and decode it by hand

I hate to admit it, but those teens, who can text message at 20+ words per minute using the new-fangled 123ABC language of numeric cell phone keypads is pretty impressive too.
