Help--leaky roof!
« on: Dec 20, 10, 10:06:10 PM »
One section of our roof (at home) just started leaking in about six places.  Is there anyone up here who would come out in this weather and put some plastic up until the weather clears and we can figure out what to do?  Any neighborly advice would be greatly appreciated!

HELP Roof Leak
I just realized we have a leak in the roof.  I think I need to get someone on the roof (2 story) to cover with plastic before the snow comes in.  Any suggestions?

If Chuck's life insurance is paid up I would say have him do it. ;)
If you are looking for someone local, I would say use Chris Booker. Someone from outside our town is Oak Hills Roofing that a few people have recommended.

Thanks Bob.  Good idea.  Lucky for Chuck, it looks like it's from a vent and we think we can fix it from the inside.

The high winds have been blowing a lot of water into vents and things. Then you may get a few drips.
Give it a few days.
And, of course, I was implying nothing about any husbands with the word "drips."  ;D

I've got a leak too, there is a damp circle about 12" in diameter in the ceiling about 2' in front of the door that goes out into the garage from the kitchen/dining area.  My ceiling has that popcorn stuff on it.  But I'm 99.44% sure that the thingie up on the roof, that turns to let heat out of the attic in the summer (single story house) is directly above the wet spot.  I thought those things weren't supposed to leak?  I don't remember it ever doing that before, in the 25 or 30 years since my hubby installed it.
Maybe Nolena is right about the high amounts of water and wind, and "drips"?    ;D

Got it fixed.  KathySC had me tie a security rope around my neck so if I fell it would lessen the impact hitting ground.  You couldn't better friends than SC and Bob with his advice on life insurance! :o :o  Merry Christmas!!
