My dog was nose to nose with a Bobcat at my sliding glass door last night. 

The dog was wagging his tail.  When I walked to the door the cat slowly walked off.   

In 25 years I've never seen one at my house.

I think if I had a mountain lion in my garage I would have just left the garage door open and asked him nicely to leave. 

Glad to hear they didn't kill the kitty.

I don't like when they euthanize wild animals that found their way into the city instead of relocating, but can you imagine if you lived next door and your toddler was killed after this neighbor let it loose???

If it is getting bold with people, I would like to see it re-located before it gets worse (for the lion or the residents).

I saw the Bobcat on my porch again this morning. This time it had one of my cats in it's mouth.

My cat just turned 12. He has never, ever been outside. My house does not smell of cat, spray or other secretions. Coyotes, Bobcats, owls, stray dogs roam freely outside. Dude is safe inside with lots of windows to look out and some open and screened in spring/summer. I grow grass for him and provide scratching areas. He has everything he needs. INdoors.

I'm sorry for your poor kitty.

If you get another one...please,please,please keep it inside.

My cats are also indoor cats.
Outdoor cats don't survive here.

Yes! Some how it managed to get away and without serious injury.

I have a 6 year old outdoor cat and she does fine.

My neighbor's cat is about 6 or 7 and he's let out every morning an let in every night.   I guess they are really lucky because their property is right up against the forest.     The cat must be really really good at evading predators.

I have four outdoor female cats.  None are spayed and none have ever had kittens.  It would be one tough male kitty to come all the way up here and service them.

Prior to the cats I had several thousand dollars in vehicle damage from pack rats eating electrical wires.  The cats completely solved that problem, and I haven't had any damage since. 

I have a kitty door on my garage so they can get indoors if they want.  They tend to sleep during the day and hang out on the patio all night.

Now I'm wondering if the bobcat can fit through the kitty door...

well we just confirmed the bobcat fits through the kitty door in the garage.

She's in there with a litter of bobcat kittens!

hmm, now what? I'm going to leave them where they are unless I can come up with a better idea. 

I'm not calling animal control.

  Holy Smokes, Skier Bob. I think I'd just leave them alone.
By the way, this thread says "mountain lion". Bobcat and mountain lion are two VERY different things!
